TRUNNELL ELECTRIC BREWS UP ONE OF THE REGION’S TOP ELECTRICAL PROJECT SUCCESSES OF 2015
Rockville, Md. – December 15, 2015 – Brewing up its highest-profile commercial project success of 2015, Trunnell Electric earlier this year completed installation of advanced lighting and electrical systems at the historic National Bohemian Brewery complex in Baltimore for renowned international architectural/design firm Development Design Group (DDG). DDG refurbished a large space in the circa 1885 property, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as its new headquarters. Working with premier general contractor Therrien Waddell, Trunnell’s top technical team adapted to numerous and complex design changes within an extremely tight project schedule to get the job completed on time. According to Brad Trunnell, Trunnell Electric’s V.P. of Commercial Services, “It is no exaggeration that design changes came daily, adding weeks to the project. Unfortunately, the timeline could not be extended. Complex coordination and creative thinking were the keys to finishing the project on time.” “Much of the work would have been a challenge for other electrical contractors, but our top-notch electricians were able to handle it without much difficulty,” said Trunnell. In the conference room, for example, LED light bars had to be custom-fitted into a suspended baffle panel. In the open work space, light panels suspended from the ceiling and uplighting fixtures contribute to a light and airy atmosphere, but the exposed ceiling meant that conduit and cable had to be affixed to structures neatly and precisely. Trunnell Electric, which celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2016, was selected by the general contractor precisely because of the complexity of the work. “They knew we had the technical capability to complete the project on time,” said Trunnell. With multiple crews working 50 to 60 hours a week to meet the tight schedule, coordination between Trunnell Electric’s on-site team leader and Therrien Waddell’s field superintendents proved to be another key to successful completion, Trunnell added.
